Thread Veins on Legs (Microsclerotherapy)

Thread veins, also called spider veins, are small blood vessels that lie within the skin and have now become dilated and visible. As they become bigger, the colour of these veins gradually changes and they appear red, purple or green. Thread veins are typically found on the legs and affect men and women equally.

Could thread veins be a sign of any other medical issues?

Thread veins can actually have underlying varicose veins that could be feeding them. Varicose veins are often painful and mean that the veins aren’t functioning properly. Some people with hidden varicose veins may have other problems in future. Therefore it is recommended that you see a doctor to seek exact diagnosis.

What are the causes of thread veins?

The stronger your familiar link with your parents’ or relatives’ genes (who had thread veins) the more prone you would be. Trauma, when the fat is destroyed or skin is crushed is also a factor, though it is rare. Crossing legs for too long, wearing tight clothes or hurting shoes are some lifestyle factors that can cause thread veins.

Microsclerotherapy - What it is and how it works?

Microsclerotherapy is a medical process that is performed to treat thread veins. Every patient who suffers from thread veins does not need this, and is done only after a detailed consultation between the doctor and the patient. During Microsclerotherapy, a solution is injected into the affected veins directly. This solution makes the veins scarred and soon they collapse. This further pushes the blood into healthy veins. The fading of the injected veins can take up to a few weeks. In most cases, complete results are visible within one month of the procedure.

Microsclerotherapy is an injection treatment that has been used by doctors for many years, however, if the treatment would be suitable for you or not, is something only an expert would be able to tell.

Can men undergo Liposuction?

Yes, they can. In fact, anyone can. Barring, of course, any other serious medical issues.
Liposuction (Lipo) is a cosmetic surgical procedure that removes the fat that diet and exercise do not seem to help reducing.

It uses a suction technique to remove fat from areas like the neck or arms, thighs, buttocks, hips and abdomen. Lipo also improves the contour of the area while removing the excess fat. It is also used to shape these areas while doing so.

There are many types of Lipo, but what they have in common is that they all use a cannula (a thin tube) connected to a vacuum to suck the fat from the body.

Lipo for Men:

As menmales age, and if their lifestyle does not include regular exercise or a stable diet, then the body fat starts collecting around the abdomen, the chest area and along the chin and neck. These are the areas that lipo can targets very effectively and can be quite effective, too.

Male skin retains its elasticity better than that of females. This means that fat under the skin is firmer and is more vascular,( i.e. is well supplied with blood) and is more defined. All these make lipo extremely effective in men.

 Types of Liposuction:
  1. Tumescent Liposuction: this is the most common method. Here the surgeon injects a sterile saline medicated solution into the area where the fat is to be removed. This causes the area to swell and stiffen and then the surgeon makes an incision in the skin, inserts the cannula and vacuums the fat and fluids from that area.
  2. Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction (VASER) : this is often used along with the first methodHere an ultrasound emitter is inserted under the skin which causes the cell walls of the fat to break making it easier to remove.
  3. Laser Assisted Liposuction: here an emitter for high energy laser light is inserted through an incision in the skin and then activated, which emulsifies the fat deposits making it easier to be suctioned away.
  4. Power Assisted Liposuction: here the cannula has a rapid back and front action, which allows the fat to be removed more easily. It allows more precision when removing the fat and may be used when, either large volumes need to be removed or there has already been an earlier liposuction procedure.

Things to know about Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure for the correction of the shape and/or reconstruction of the human nose. It can improve the shape and profile of the nose, or the ability to breathe or oftentimes both.

The structure of the nose is made up of the nasal bones at the top and cartilages below closer to the tip, rhinoplasty can change both.

What one needs to know about rhinoplasty:
It can be done for medical reasons like congenital or birth deformities, or for damage caused by severe trauma, or diseases like skin cancer. It can also be done for cosmetic reasons when a patient is not happy with the shape, size, height, or profile of their nose.
After the surgery, it will take some time for the swelling on the nose to settle down and for the nose to achieve its final shape.
The sense of smell and unobstructed breathing may both be affected immediately following the surgery. This generally recovers over the next few weeks.
It is not uncommon to have slight bleeding or discharge of old blood from the nostrils during the postoperative period. This is self-limiting and stops in a few days.
Post-operation the nose might feel a bit numb, but this recovers to normal sensations as the swelling settles.

While you will see the results pretty soon, we always advise our patients to wait for 3 – 6 months before evaluating their final results, as in some patients the swelling can go down slower than others.
If you are already on some form of regular medication before surgery, inform your surgeon without fail, as some are known to increase bleeding. Take no medication without consultation.

If you are a smoker, stop. Smoking slows the healing process and greatly increases the chances of infection and other complications.

Consult with both Cosmetic Surgeons and ENT specialists before deciding to go ahead. Get multiple opinions, research the subject, and take your time. It is after all your nose on your face.

Do You Wish You Were Younger?

Who doesn't want to look younger than they are? You might even look at your old pictures and wish you could look that young again. You can. A facelift can help you to restore your youthful appearance by removing major wrinkles and sagging skin.

 Facelift

What is facelift surgery?

A facelift surgery, also known as a rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure carried out to improve visible signs of aging on the face and neck. This procedure helps to tighten the facial and neck muscles as well as the removal of any excess skin.

Why do I need a facelift surgery?

Imagine you are living in a crowded/fast running city like Mumbai. You will be exposed to the sun, smoke, and pollution for a long time. This chronic sun exposure and pollution can cause uneven skin tone, one of the most aging changes. It also results in the breakdown of collagen and elastin and leaves the skin slacker and wrinkled. As a result, you will look older than you are.

Another reason is your age. As you age, your skin sags and folds over the chin, jawline, and neck become prominent. In some cases, genetic factors and stress also play a role in damaging your skin. The loss of youthful contours in your face can put you in substantial emotional turmoils. You might have spent a lot of time, money, and effort in the anti-aging materials in the market, which gave only temporary or zero results. Don't get disappointed; choosing a facelift surgery can be a perfect solution for your problem.

What facelift surgery can do?

Facelift surgery can make you look 5 to 10 years younger by removing the wrinkles and sagging skin. It can also help remove the:
  • Visible creases and lines between the nose and corner of the mouth.
  • The fat that has fallen or has disappeared around the neck and face.
  • Jowls developing in the cheeks and jaw
  • Double chin or "turkey neck."
Who is the right candidate?

In general, good candidates for a facelift include:
  • People who wish for a flawless young skin
  • Individuals who do not have medical conditions that impair healing
  • Nonsmokers
  • Persons with a positive outlook and realistic expectations

If you are planning to consider facelift surgery, book an appointment at Clinique Beaute Naturelle, Mumbai, and discuss with the experts to choose the treatment suitable for you.

Do you have an age limit to perform breast reduction surgery?

Reduction mammaplasty or breast reduction surgery is the removal of excess skin, tissues, and fat from the breasts. This surgery could give the perfect shape that one desired for years. Usually, reduction mammaplasty is required in large breasts that cause physical discomfort or feel unattractive.

 Breast reduction surgery

Reasons for options for reduction mammaplasty

Usually, breast reduction surgery is performed for women with large busts and to solve certain other issues related to it.
  • Restricted activities
  • Nerve pain
  • Skin irritation or rashes under the breasts
  • Severe pain in neck, back, and shoulders that would require medications
  • Poor self-image
  • Problem with cloth fitting
Breast reduction surgery will not be suggested for women who are planning for a baby and weight loss. It is a challenge to perform breast reduction surgery for women under specific issues such as smoking, obesity, heart problems, and diabetes.

Age limit and breast reduction surgery

Normally, the breast reduction surgery could be performed at any age after puberty only if the breast enlargement is causing an issue. It is only after puberty, or after crossing the teen years, the complete bust development would happen. However, the surgery will be modified to suit each patient. The modification is performed based on certain factors such as the age of the patient, the size, and the descent of the breast.

Certain factors like childbirth or ongoing weight loss will affect the outcome of the surgery; hence it is recommended not to perform surgery while under this condition. Surgery could be performed after finishing with pregnancy and breastfeeding and also after gaining a stable weight.

Post breast reduction surgery

A successful breast reduction surgery would help relieve pain in the upper back, neck, and shoulders. It would also help increase the ability to participate in physical activities and achieve a better self-image. It will take months to see the final results. Physical activities need to be limited for about 3 weeks as the breasts would require enough time to heal. The doctors would recommend underwire bras after a month. As long as the patient maintains a healthy lifestyle and a steady weight, the results for breast reduction surgery will be long-standing.

At Liposuction Tummy Tuck - Mumbai, the doctor provides an effective surgery for the reduction of breasts that results in the perfect shape.

Chemical Peels

A Chemical Peel can improve the appearance of the skin on your face, neck, and hands. Your skin specialist will apply a chemical solution to your skin, which will eventually peel off your skin layer. The newly regenerated skin is less wrinkled and smoother than the old skin. It is also highly sensitive to the sun for a few weeks after the process. A Chemical Peel can remove the damaged skin cells and also regenerate healthier skin underneath. There are three different types of Chemical Peels- light, medium, and deep.

Chemical peel

A Light Chemical Peel, also called Superficial Peel when applied, removes the outer layer of skin. It can treat wrinkles, acne, uneven skin tone, and dryness. Depending on your desired results, you may have a light chemical peel as often as every two to five weeks.

Medium Chemical Peel can treat your skin by removing the skin cells from the epidermis and also from the upper part of the middle layer of the dermis. To maintain results, you can repeat the treatment after three to nine months.

Your specialist will only suggest a Deep Chemical Peel if you have deeper wrinkles or facial Pigmentation. During the process, the skin cells from the epidermis and from portions of the middle to lower layers of your dermis are removed. The treatment can only be performed once in a month and repeated as per doctors advise.

What are the side effects of Chemical Peels?

Like every treatment, Chemical Peel also tends to have some side-effects. Some may be temporary, whereas other side effects could be permanent.

  •  Redness, dryness, burning, and swelling are few temporary side-effects you can expect after a chemical peel.
  •  Darkening of the skin, scarring, and infection are some extremely rare side-effects.

Your recovery time will vary according to the Chemical Peel you have received. After the treatment, the specialist will provide you with specific instructions on aftercare to be followed at home. He will prescribe you with some lotions and facial creams to apply on your skin.

At Liposuction Tummy Tuck Mumbai, our expert skin specialists strive to provide quality treatment for all your skincare problems.

Plumping Your Lips Is Trending

In 2015, the Kylie Jenner challenge stormed the internet with netizens going gaga over getting fuller lips. That time they tried getting the trendy pouty look by putting their lips into a shot glass and sucking the air inside, and now in 2018, with another similar challenge doing on the rounds on a social media video app called TikTok, people are again trying to get the topped-up lip by super-gluing them. Millions of people joined the challenge in 2015 and more are coming forward to post their videos of lip-gluing now as well. The simple reason behind such popularity is that pouts are in fashion and fuller lips are considered to make one look more feminine and beautiful.

dermafiller treatment in mumbai

Time and again movie stars have spent millions in beautifying themselves, among which lip surgeries and lip plumping top the charts. But they have opted for better methods and procedures rather than timidly gluing their lips or sucking the air from inside a shot glass. Smart indeed! You can be too if you choose Juvederm fillers to get the attractive look you always desired. But it is to be noted that the treatment is not solely about getting the pouty look, but essentially getting a more feminine look and fuller, beautiful and attractive lips.

Juvederm, a popular nonsurgical cosmetic treatment option is used for facial contouring purposes and to reduce the signs of ageing. This filler is used mainly to contour the cheeks, lips and the mouth area. It is an injectable with hyaluronic acid as a base. It’s a fast process and needs just 15-60 minutes to complete the entire process.

The efficacy of the treatment is unparallel, effects can be noticed immediately after the procedure and the results can last up to 2- 3 years.

There are three main types of Juvederm fillers listed below:
  • Juvederm Voluma XC
  • Juvederm XC and Juvederm Vollure XC
  • Juvederm Ultra XC and Juvederm Volbella XC
Juvederm effectively adds the extra volume to the facial tissue. The hyaluronic acid base stimulates connective tissue production thereby plumping the skin. This treatment is fast, easy and affordable, however, consult a doctor before opting for the treatment.
